Luray Caverns

L and I did many amazing things on our Tinymoon.  It has clearly taken me a long time to process all of the photos so that I can share them with you.  One rainy day, she and I went to the Luray Caverns in the small town of Luray, VA.  I would recommend everyone visit the caverns at least once.  They have some of the most amazing rock formations I’ve ever seen.

Here is an example of the many stalactites, stalagmites, and ribbon-shaped rock formations we saw in the caverns.

I really like the color contrast in this photo between the red rocks and the green water.  Unfortunately, the Luray Caverns staff allow patrons to throw money into this particular subterranean pool.  The copper in the coins is what makes the water appear so green, which contrasts nicely with the iron oxides in the rocks, but is not natural to the environment.
